When and where did you see this on TV? I'm the author of the book, and I'm curious who's talking about it.

Please e-mail bawinc@hotmail.com as I do not understand these blog listings.

If you follow the second link (<a href="http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/opinion/story/0,24330,3405222,00.html)">http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/opinion/story/0,24330,3405222,00.html)</a> you will see that it was the topic for a poll on "The Screensavers" on TechTV on 10/28. I only caught the very end of it, so I'm afraid I can't say much of anything about what they said about it. I'm curious, how'd you end up coming across my weblog post?

i know of three Ph.Ds--myself included--who do not partake of caffeinated beverages at all. The question--are we stronger versions of the species or abberrant deviations deserved of excommunication? Enquiring minds want to know.

D.- I think the real question is whether you gave up caffeine before or after completion of your dissertation. If you managed to do your entire dissertation without caffeine, I'd have to say you have a superior ability to push your body to the extremes of exhaustion. Either that or you were well rested and just took a really long time to finish. ;-)

none of us actually have our Ph.Ds yet--we are but mere candidates--so i guess i'll anticipate the acquisition of the aforementioned habit. or defenestration. :) have to find an appropriate counterweight to give up if i'm to start drinking coffee. ahh, asceticism is a great way to rationalize poverty. i deny, therefore i am.
